About the Show

Capitol Access covers New Hampshire politics and political activism with a skeptical, feisty, flinty edge. The focus is generally on upcoming legislation, citizen involvement, the nature of government, and the New Hampshire constitution. Guests include state legislators, political activists, and people involved with nonprofit issues-based organizations.

Before Capitol Access became a real-life public access production, the show started off with a few primarily simple ideas. While in the Concord TV lobby signing contracts and whatnot, Denis and Lydia stumbled across Rob Barton and Mike Richos, two high-school filmmakers. At that point, the first words out of Lydia's mouth were "Hey guys, you wanna be part of the crew for the coolest show ever!?"

Curiously, Rob and Mike accepted the request and while in a pre-production meeting in late August of 2007, decided to recruit Alex Hall to the crew to take control as the Capitol Access audio coordinator.

From their pilot episode, the Capitol Access crew and show alike have developed into a concrete politically-based show that maintains a steadily rising viewership.
